Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet

Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet (b. May 14, 1973 in Paris) is a French politician, current Minister of State to the Prime Minister, with responsibility for Forward Planning, Assessment of Public Policies and Development of the Digital Economy in the French government.
 
She was a member (2002-2007) of French National Assembly representing the department of Essonne, to the south of Paris. She is a member of the Union for a Popular Movement group. She is also the mayor of Longjumeau (Essonne) since March 2008.
 
Although close to Jacques Chirac throughout his presidency, she is a strong advocate of green issues, and can be described as a part of the "blue ecologists" group.
 
She graduated from the École Polytechnique.
 
 Family
 
She comes from a politician family with Polish roots (from Józef Tomasz Kościuszko (1743-1789), brother of the famous Tadeusz Kościuszko) Her grandfather, Jacques Kosciusko-Morizet (born Kosciusko 1913-1994) was an academic, member of the French Resistance during the war, gaullist politician and former French ambassador in US whose father in law, André Morizet, was a socialist senator and mayor of Boulogne-Billancourt. Her father François Kosciusko-Morizet (b. 1940) is the current mayor of Sèvres. She is also the sister of Pierre Kosciusko-Morizet (b. 1977), one of the founders of Priceminister.com, the third ranked e-commerce site in France.
